Bun-Less Burgers

Whether you are following TheFittChick plan, a Paleo diet, a low-carb lifestyle, or just trying to eat healthy, you aren’t going to be having a bun with your burger.  My philosophy is – if you top your burger right it tastes great, you won’t even miss the bun, or the sugar-y condiments.  Here is one of my favorite burger ideas for “bun-less” sliders!

My recipe is simple, just a little sea salt and pepper with high quality grass-fed organic beef or lean sirloin cooked to medium rare, and served with mouth-watering toppings.

This is a family friendly idea where everyone can pick their own toppings!  Move over taco night, burger night has taken over as my kids go-to favorite dinner.   If your children become involved in choosing or preparing meals, they’ll be more interested in eating what they’ve created.  So what are you waiting for?  Get Cooking!

TheFittChick “Bun-Less” Burger:

INGREDIENTS:

–       1 pound lean ground beef

–       sea salt and ground pepper to taste

–       1 Dorot garlic cube (or 2 cloves garlic)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix all your ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Form patties in the shape of a thick ball (thick enough to cut in half).
  3. Grill on the BBQ or on a grill pan to your liking.
  4. Once cooled a bit, cut your burgers in half and let everyone top with their favorite toppings.
  5. Devour!

TOPPING SUGGESTIONS:

  1. Grilled onion
  2. Avocado
  3. Sautéed mushrooms
  4. Bacon or turkey bacon
  5. Egg
  6. Low-fat cheese
  7. Pickles
