A lot of my young readers and clients have questions about healthy eating and losing weight! I would never put an age on when health and weight loss can start to worry a teenager because I know what it’s like to be that girl! Being young and trying to lose weight in a world of temptation is one of the toughest things a teen can do, but learning while you are young is one of the smartest things a parent can do for their child.
I love working with teenagers on health and wellness, and being the first one in their lives to give them the tools they need to live a healthy lifestyle. Today’s ‘Tuesday Transformation’ is one I am so proud to finally post. The mother of this client took my advice, and had her daughter meet with my mind-set therapist before our initial appointment. She made sure her daughter would not become obsessed with her weight; helping her to start her journey with the right expectations!
In the past ten months I have known this extraordinary girl, I have seen her start on day one with wanting to learn how to eat healthy in a world of junk food. Slowly she tried new foods, new recipes, how to eat while traveling, how to incorporate her favorite foods into her everyday life, and how to use her own body composition to see what exercise would work best for her body type.
At just 5’1, losing over 13 inches and 21 pounds is a huge accomplishment. She also lost 8% body fat while maintaining all of her muscle she worked so hard to build. She took advantage of my program by texting me her food journal daily, and never missed her weekly meetings! She says…

Yes, exercise was a huge part of her program as well. She was on her high school dance team, did The Bar Method three to four times a week, lifted weights, and incorporated fasted cardio into her program as well. There is nothing I didn’t suggest that she did not try! I know her freshman year at college will not be without obstacles, but she is prepared to take on anything that comes her way! I am having the best time! Weighed myself this morning and hit a new low!!!)
