Metabolic Conditioning workouts, or MetCons for short, are fast paced, high intensity workouts completed in a short period of time that will challenge your cardiovascular capacity, put your metabolism into overdrive and rapidly burn fat. Tonight my hubby and I hit the High School track by our house for an intense pre-dinner workout. The summer is such a great time to change up your workouts and see huge results. Try this quick workout for a huge calorie burn!
Warm up jog around the track 2 times
Sprint 400 meters/rest 4 minutes
Sprint 300 meters/rest 3 minutes
Sprint 200 meters/rest 2 minutes
Sprint 100 minutes/recover
Once you catch your breath, its time to hit the stairs. Sprint up each bleacher and jog down. I did this 10 times. Our plan is to do this all summer to improve our endurance and reap the benefits that high intensity interval training can do for your body.
