With Thanksgiving week finally here, you may be gearing up for some long travel days. With some planning and preparation ahead of time, you can easily stay on track with your weight-loss goals.
Traveling can play havoc with your meal plan and cause you to make impulsive food choices. To keep cravings and sugars at bay, it’s important not to skip meals and get stuck unprepared.
I can tell you that getting up at 3am this morning was a little early to start breaking out my pots and pans, which is why I made these yummy oatmeal squares last night. With only 77 calories each, they will make the perfect travel day breakfast. The food choices at airports have definitely gotten better over the last few years, but it will never be as healthy as what you bring from home.
If you’re in for a long car or plane ride, pack a cooler filled with your favorite snacks. Some of my favorites are veggies with individual hummus or guacamole cups, hard-boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, nuts, fresh fruit, or overnight oatmeal. Or try these Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Breakfast Squares to fill you up without packing on the pounds.
