Weight Loss Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!

Guilt-Free Cookie Dough Recipe

Healthy snacks are always  on my mind! Anything to get away from all the artificial flavors and preservatives in the typical supermarket treat! I don’t know about you, but my sweet tooth is constantly nagging at me. I am continually looking for ways to satisfy that craving without it interfering with my weight loss goals. I need snacks that are filling, taste amazing, made of mainly whole foods, low-cal, and perfect for anyone 11 to 99. That is not an easy task!

This cookie dough fits all of my requirements with one of my favorite baking ingredients garbanzo beans (chick peas). What? Garbanzo beans in cookie dough!?!? Absolutely. The flavor of the beans is masked by the other ingredients. They create a near perfect consistency matched to real cookie dough, but with the added benefit of low-glycemic complex carbohydrates, fiber, and even a good amount of protein.

This recipe is the perfect way to start or end your day. Plus, it’s easy to measure out an exact calorie amount so that you can hit your calorie goals for the day right on the mark. This is definitely a recipe you will want to try!

–       2 – 25 oz can of garbanzo beans (chick peas)

–       ½ cup all-natural peanut butter, I like Old Home or Parkers

–       4 TBSP Walden Farms maple syrup (or honey for FitKids)

–       1 tsp vanilla extract

–       4 TBSP gluten-free old fashioned oats

–       ½ cup Lily’s Stevia sweetened chocolate chips or regular chocolate chips if you prefer

–       Stevia if needed

–       Add pasteurized liquid egg whites or Quest baking powder to add extra protein to this already amazing recipe (optional)!

  1. Drain both cans of garbanzo beans. Place all ingredients except for the chocolate chips into a food processor. Process until you have a smooth consistency.

  2. Once smooth, mix in Lily’s chocolate chips by hand. Tranfer cookie dough to a tightly sealed storage container and place in the fridge. It will be ready to devour in just a few hours (if you can wait)!

Satisfying you sweet tooth can be the key to some of my clients seeing long term success. I NEVER want anyone to feel like they are on a diet! TheFittChick plan is a lifestyle, and what I like to call #flexibledieting. This guilt-free recipe can be just the tool you need to keep in your fridge, and keep your hand out of the cookie jar!
