“Most foods can be included in moderation as part of a healthy diet! Steak is no exception! Lean beef is a good source of protein, iron, zinc and B vitamins. A concern is that steak can also be a source of saturated fat and cholesterol, so it’s important to be aware of which cuts are the leanest and what preparation techniques can help reduce saturated fat.”
This amazing meal at Morton’s Steakhouse was simply an 8 oz filet (not brushed with butter or oil), and a side of steamed broccoli. It was more then enough to eat, and satisfied my craving for some red meat!
American’s actually eat more meat then the rest of the world, an average of 2 pounds a week per person. Picking the leanest cut is important in maintaining a healthy diet. Check out this link to find out which meat you should be ordering on your next night out.
